Flat Mama Friday and the Maine Coast 262 Half Marathon
Today we hopped a flight to Boston and drove to my other happy place...
Maine!
I adore Maine.

I received a free entry into the Maine Coast 262 Half Marathon as a BibRave Pro (ambassador) in exchange for an honest review. Check out BibRave.com to read and write race reviews!
We got to the hotel around 3 and met up with my friend and fellow Jersey girl, Shannon. The hubs did some work while we went to bib pick up at the University of New England.

It was a small expo, with a large store area that sells everything you might have forgotten at home.... gels and bars, clothes, etc. There was also a booth selling medal racks. We went to the back to pick up our bibs.

It was quick and painless, but there was no shirt. I was confused for a bit until a volunteer told us that we had to buy them when we registered. I totally missed that, but they were selling them in the merch area. They only had size small and XXL, so no shirt for me. It's all good though, I'll buy a tee in town tomorrow and that will do me just fine. The cute sticker came with the bib, which was a nice touch.

On our way out, we found this little gem....

Y'all, it was a legit Champagne tanker. If there is Champagne in there, they better have it at the finish line!
We let the hubs come have dinner with us, wasn't that sweet? It worked out pretty well, because he ordered a really yummy dessert which I ate 75% of...

Ok, time for bed, 6 am comes early, and I cannot wait to run along the Maine Coast. Stay tuned for about a billion pictures of the ocean and at least one of the bling!

Thursday Training Update
I really need to start packing for tomorrow's trip to Maine, but let me throw out last week's workouts before I do.
Prepare to be mildly impressed. Maybe. Probably not, but that's ok. It's the second week of Chicago Marathon Training and I'm keeping up with the plan, which is starting off slowly. Gotta love it!
Thursday: 4 miles for Star Wars Day! Obviously one must run 4 miles on May the Fourth...be with you...

Friday was a rest day, so we walked the pups.
Saturday was the Girls on the Run 5k. It was also my 22nd Anniversary and that night we finally celebrated my birthday with friends!

Sunday the hubs and I hiked the Thread Trail, 4 miles and it was the perfect day for it. A little warm but also nice and breezy. I may have had cake for lunch. Don't judge, it was really amazing cake.

Monday was 9 Round day and it just about killed me, y'all. Sooooo much upper body, I felt broken for days. I also walked a mile with the pups.

Tuesday was track day and we ran 5k, plus walked an extra mile because we had time.

Wednesday. I was supposed to go back to 9 Round but holy heck I was still so broken. We walked the pups instead and I went grocery shopping and got my nails done for the half this weekend. That's just as good, right? Don't worry, I don't think so, either! My nails looks awesome, though!

Even though it kicked my butt, 9 Round was my favorite workout of the week. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, right? What was your favorite workout this week?

Girls on the Run Tri County 5k
Today is my 22nd Anniversary! I've been married to the hubs for half my life! How crazy is that?
What better way to start the day than a 5k with hundreds of little girls?

For obvious reasons there won't be any pics of these adorable littles. It was a fun race, and I ran...walked... with one of the sassiest girls on my team!

My friend Lissa was a course marshal so I saw her around mile 2.

We also hung at Starbucks for over an hour afterwards. She's one of my favorite people and it's easy to lose track of time when we get together!

The bling was really cute. I started with a pink ribbon, but a little girl wanted one and when she finished they only had white left. How could I resist?
The rest of today is all about the hubs... well, not really. We are celebrating my birthday with friends tonight. I know, it's been a month, but this was the first time everyone was available.
Happy Saturday, y'all!

Thursday Training Update and the Chicago Marathon
Last week was the start of Chicago Marathon Training! Holy heck, where did the time go?

I got my training plan from the head of my running club, the PG Speed Demons. He's done hundreds of marathons and ultras (yes, many hundreds, the guy is a beast and has done Boston 17 times, I believe.) so I am more than willing to use his plan!
On to last week's workouts!
Wednesday: Girls on the Run and a dog walk

Thursday: 3.7 miles with the Speed Demons

Friday: drove to Nashville and walked all over the expo and Music Row.

Saturday: RnR Nashville and Mini Golf

Sunday: drove home and walked the dogs

Monday: total rest day! We had Girls on the Run but we were indoors and I didn't move around much. My Chicago tank arrived too!

Tuesday: 3.1 miles with the Speed Demons. Tired legs but a beautiful morning!

I also registered for all 3 races...

Wednesday: back to 9 Round after about 3 weeks off! It was leg day, and I lived to tell you about it.... barely...
We also walked at Girls on the Run and I walked the dogs with the hubs, plus I did the Fit Star Fit Test. Whew!

I think 9 Round was my favorite workout this past week. What was your favorite?
